Organic V/S Non-Organic Food

The term “Organic” describes the things that are natural or related to nature. In other words, organic is used to mean “healthful” or “close to nature.” It can also describe foods grown without artificial pesticides or fertilizers. In other uses, organic refers to living things or material that comes from living things. Meanwhile the term “organic food” narrate the crop grown or the foodstuff made without using most conventional pesticides; fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge; bioengineering; or ionizing radiation.” It uses organic farming methods. “Organic food” is grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, such as human-made pesticides and fertilizers, and does not contain genetically modified.

The consumption of non-organic food results in the consumption of higher levels of pesticides, antibiotics, or hormones, and your food may be coming from growing conditions that are not as high as organic products which result in serious health problems such as obesity, cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes and many more. However, apart from the many advantages organic food has also some issues related to it such as organic foods cost more than items grown through traditional methods, Organic foods have a shorter shelf life than other items, and these foodstuffs are hard to find or not always available in some communities, etc. 

So here the question arises what to choose? Organic or Non-organic food 

Overall, it is said that it’s better to eat organic. Organic diets we know lead to less pesticide and antibiotic exposure, but nutritionally, they are about the same. In addition, there’s no evidence of clinically relevant differences between organic and inorganic foods. Organic farming is widely considered to be a much more sustainable alternative when it comes to food production. Organic food reduces your chemical exposure as it contains fewer pesticides. Organic food is also often fresher because it does not contain preservatives that prolong its shelf life. Organic farming is also better for the environment because its practices involve less pollution and soil erosion, the lack of pesticides, and a wider variety of plants enhances biodiversity and results in better soil quality and reduced pollution from fertilizer or pesticide run-off. 

On the other hand, Non-organic or Inorganic refers to food products such as fruits, vegetables, and meats that are grown using synthetics such as pesticides, insecticides, and chemical fertilizers. Also, it includes meat products that are modified at a genetic or molecular level by the producers. Non-organic foods are grown through non-organic farming in which the producer can even cross-breed crops to produce high-quality fruits and vegetables. However, they are allowed to do it under the acceptable levels as per the norms of the government. Organic foods have very less benefits such as being cheap or budget-friendly, easy availability, or may contain more nutrients sometimes hence it’s proven that organic foods are much better than inorganic foods.
