Who does not love flowers? Those lovely multicoloured refreshing companions full of fragrance and hope. Especially in today’s fast life when most of the people are suffering from stress and other mental health issues. They help reduce stress and find peace of mind. Multiple studies prove that flowers have a healing effect. 

Nowadays, dried flowers are in trend because we can keep them longer. Fresh flowers are in a lot of demand but keeping them fresh is hard. So for those who can not grow fresh flowers themselves or who can not buy fresh flowers every week, its good option to decorate home or office desk.

It is a one-time investment. If you keep them in a dry place without direct sunlight, dried flowers will stay usable for 6 months or more. They are also a good as a gift for someone special so that they always remember you. You can also decorate your office desk with dry flowers.

How to Dry flowers?

Hanging method

  1. Pick some fresh flowers with stem and cut them equally.
  2. Remove extra foliage from the stems and tie all the stems together. You can use an elastic band or thread tied properly.
  3. Hang them at some dry place at home.
  4. After 10-15 days your flowers will be ready to use.
  5. Flowers which you can dry using this method are Gomphrena, Celosia, Strawflowers, Cockscomb etc.

Pressing method

  1. If you want to make decorative pieces from dried flowers use this method.
  2. Put them inside a paper and press with your books.
  3.  After 4-5 days you will get beautiful dried flowers for your designs.
  4. Flowers which you can dry from this method are thin petals flowers or grass-like fern etc.
 

Silica gel method

  1. If you want flowers as fresh as possible use this method.
  2. Put your flowers in silica gel box and close the box for few days
  3. If petals are thin 3-4 days are enough and if petals are strong keep them inside box at least for 7 days.
  4. You will get your flowers in the same form but the colour will be a little darker than the original.
  5. Flowers which you can dry from this method are Rose, Sunflower, Zinnia etc.

Microwave method

  1. If you want to dry flowers quickly put them in the microwave and start the machine for 1 min. Your flowers will dry easily.
  2. Flowers which you can dry from this method are Gomphrena, fern etc.

How to Arrange dried flowers ?

  1. For arranging dried flowers get your favourite flowers and make any beautiful decoration bunch out of that. 
  2. Avoid foam for arrangements. 
  3. Also, put some fragrant dried herbs in that bunch. Always use them with soft hands so it will not damage the stem.
  4. Don’t forget to add some dried grass with it so that it looks more beautiful. 
  5. Remember to keep them in a dry place with no direct sunlight.
  6. You can also arrange dried flowers heads on your table with decorative plates or bowls.
